A CERISE DREAM.
‘T

here are animals that survive on blood; and others that crack open eggs and eat the young, or the runny yolk inside; and others that eat their own young; and then humans, too, eat meat and eggs and blood, only in specific ways, in specific shapes, with specific herbs, and these animals and humans are not demons. Neither are cannibals, or people who eat objects. There are humans who have eaten shards of glass, coins, nails, blades, stones; one man who has eaten bicycles, trolleys, a whole aeroplane and a coffin.’
